Get your neon tutu, fluorescent leg warmers and hi-vis on and run a Bright Day, a mufti day with a difference that raises life-saving awareness and funds for charity! Everyone turns up wearing their brightest clothes in return for a gold coin donation to Brake.
The day helps to remind drivers to slow down and watch out for pedestrians and cyclists, and raises awareness of people killed and injured on foot and bicycle on our roads every year.
Whether you're a school, childcare centre, community group or workplace, it's easy to run a Bright Day. Got remote workers or staff working from home? They can easily join in too and share photos of their bright outfits.
Your funds help Brake to run our road safety campaigns and education programmes and support families bereaved and injured by road crashes.
Step one: Plan it!
Step two: Do it!
On the morning of your Bright Day, make sure that everyone donates a gold coin for taking part in the event. You could have a prize for the best outfit or have a Bright Day parade on the pavement, with placards saying Slow Down!
Step three: Cover it!
Use Brake's template press releases to secure media coverage for your Bright Day.

Give media a call the day before the event to remind them to turn up. Take a group photo and send it to your paper if they can't turn up - they'll probably print it!
Step four: Send it!
Step five: Donate it!
